I don't remember talking about design so much as just talking — about life, about ideas, about reading. "You will learn most things by looking," he would say, "but reading gives understanding. Reading will make you free.

Looking for Things
Ever wonder how much we see everyday? If we could write it all down or maybe just be more aware of what we see. Did we see the little boy on the sidewalk? Did we see the tree limbs, bare for the winter? How much beauty is out there that we just don't see, don't want to be bothered with, but it's there. And if we can learn to see just one thing a day how much more enriched our lives would be. How much bigger the box that we've got ourselves in would seem. And if we could see that one thing how soon would it be before we start looking for two or three. There is a whole world out there-learn to look to see and to remember the little day to day things.
